McMillen Jacobs Associates in Seattle, WA is seeking to hire a full-time Civil Associate to work on a wide range of civil engineering tasks to support our various projects. The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This engineering position offers a competitive salary and generous benefits. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIVIL ASSOCIATE

As a Civil Associate, you arrive at work each day ready for whatever civil engineering project comes your way. You manage the design process and provide support to project managers and design engineers. Collaborating with your team, you work together to successfully complete civil engineering projects. To ensure a fully integrated design, you coordinate between multiple disciplines inside and outside the office. You perform occasional field work including site visits, drainage investigations, and inspections. For each project, you track design progress versus timelines and budgets. You enjoy professional networking and searching for avenues of developing new business. You love keeping busy and making sure that projects go off without a hitch.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU

  • 12+ years of Civil Engineering experience related to underground infrastructure, trenchless projects as well as traditional civil engineering design aspects (ie roadway, drainage, grading, utilities)
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or the ability to obtain one within 1 yr
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk products including the use of Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulics software including, but not limited to, WWHM2012, MGSFlood, Hydraflow, and Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis.
  • Ability to work closely with and direct CAD drafters and design engineers
  • Good communication skills and experience maintaining relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Willingness to mentor, coach, and advise staff engineers in their designs and professional development. Are you organized with excellent time management skills?
