McMillen Jacobs Associates' Seattle office is looking for a Senior Project hydrogeologist to join our team to help service projects in Seattle and within our West Coast Regions. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of practical hydrogeologist consulting experience with a structural geology understanding. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic office experiencing rapid growth in a healthy market focused on infrastructure development, specifically in the underground sector for the foreseeable future.


  • Technical direction of hydrogeological investigations, soil/rock site characterizations, and groundwater resource analyses related to underground projects.
    • Specialty areas include groundwater inflow predictions into rock tunnels and through permeable tunnel linings, aquifer characterization, in-situ hydrogeological testing and analysis, groundwater flow numerical modeling including groundwater pumping and aquifer recharge, groundwater control and remedy approach selection (such as ground improvement or dewatering) and design, and contaminant transport assessments.
  • Directing and mentoring staff engineers and scientists, developing technical analyses and interpretations, preparing reports, designs and specifications.
  • Work on a variety of office and field assignments, with a focus on hydrogeological and structural engineering analyses, development of drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical memoranda that present the basis of design.
  • Assist in coordinating sub consultants and design staff on large-scale underground infrastructure projects.


  • MS in Hydrogeology. An educational background in structural engineering is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities, and supervise staff engineers and geologist on project tasks.
  • Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
  • Licensed Hydrogeologist in Washington, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Willingness to travel for short-term assignments.
