McMillen Jacobs Associates seeks a Marketing Coordinator with strong writing, communication, organizational, and time-management skills to support marketing efforts, working post-COVID out of either the Walnut Creek or San Francisco office. The primary focus of the coordinator position is to support marketing proposals and support the internal operations of the marketing department, while also providing general maintenance of marketing records and materials such as resumes and project descriptions. The Marketing Coordinator must possess a strong desire to grow personally and professionally with each marketing effort and must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism. The position provides division-wide assistance with proposals and qualifications packages, marketing communications, information management, and research, often interfacing directly with technical staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, desktop publishing expertise using Word and InDesign, and be a detail oriented, self-starter who can handle multiple deadlines. Graphics experience is highly desirable.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with excellent verbal, written, and visual skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Ability to balance overlapping deadlines and changing priorities with ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Maintain strict attention to details for branding, consistency, and accuracy
  • Effectively interact with technical staff and other marketing team members to understand and communicate technical information
  • Ability to research, write, edit, and proofread content provided by proposal team to develop proposal and marketing content and supporting RFQ/RFP compliance
  • Demonstrate good decision making, time management, communication, and coordination
  • Coordinate events, conference materials, and advertising when needed
  • Has experience using client resource management databases and has an affinity for ensuring accuracy
  • Deliver a high level of quality in documents and internal service
  • Champion internal and external marketing and communications
  • Champions the McMillen Jacobs Associates brand externally
  • Perform marketing duties as assigned by Marketing Manager or Marketing Director.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or English preferred
  • Up to five (5) years of relevant experience in marketing, preferably in the A/E/C industry
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign; and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision or a similar platform preferred
  • Initiative maintain a willingness to engage in tasks/challenges beyond stated responsibilities. Be realistic and communicate conflicting priorities with the ability to contribute resources for extended initiatives
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform work in a consistent and positive manner
  • Ability to work overtime when needed (standard hours are 8:30-5:30 M-F)
  • Must be a team player, willing to work in cooperation with others (marketing and technical)
  • Professional demeanor/interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of professionals internally and externally
  • Demonstrates good decision making, superior time management and coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Exemplary organizational, interpersonal, oral, visual, and written communication skills
  • Superior grammar and proofreading skills
  • Graphic design skills a plus
