McMillen Jacobs Associates is looking for a Design Technology professional who is proficient with Autodesk's Civil 3D software. The successful candidate with be responsible for documentation preparation and interdisciplinary coordination for heavy civil, underground projects focusing on transportation and water conveyance.


  • Develop detailed engineering drawings and documents based on sketches, redline markups, and information based on verbal instructions and notes provided by designers and engineers.
  • Coordinates drafting deliverables for small projects within local office and/or other regional offices.
  • Communicates externally with other regional offices and companies on design team.
  • Understand CAD/BIM requirements needed for different clients and ensures CAD/BIM standards, QAQC procedures are followed during drawing planning and production.
  • Mentors and helps to train lower tier Design Technology personnel.
  • Participates in Design Technology Practice Group CAD/BIM initiatives.


  • 2 + years of experience using latest releases of Autodesk Civil 3D pertaining to alignments, profiles, cross sections, surfaces, and pipe networks.
  • Basic understanding of drawing presentation & organization.
  • General knowledge of engineering mathematics and ability to perform basic engineering computations.
  • Strong personal organization and time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify various data formats and utilize in CAD/BIM context.
