McMillen Jacobs Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Construction Claims Analyst role. Candidates should be pursuing or have recently obtained a degree in civil engineering or construction management and have 0-3 years of experience in the construction industry. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

As a Construction Claims Analyst, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated construction claims and disputes including, but not limited to the following:

  • Document Management: Locating, filing, reviewing, and analyzing larges sets of construction project documents.
  • Data Analysis: Compiling, reviewing, and analyzing large data sets from construction projects.
  • Schedule Analysis: Reviewing, preparing, and analyzing as-planned and as-built construction project schedules.
  • Cost Estimation: Preparing cost estimates for changed construction work.
  • Document Review: Reviewing construction contract documents to determine entitlement for change order requests and claims.
  • Presentations: Preparing charts and other graphics for presentations to be used in dispute resolution processes.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with construction project documents including, but not limited to contracts, plans, specifications, change orders, submittals, requests for information, schedules, and claims.
  • Must be experienced using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to handle strict/evolving priorities and deadlines.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the construction industry

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working on active construction projects.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
  • An interest in the contractual/legal side of construction management.
