McMillen Jacobs Associates is looking for a Construction Manager with 3-5 years of practical experience with construction projects valued at $1 Million or more.

The successful candidate for this position will ideally have experience in underground construction and construction engineering, specifically wastewater collections systems; trench and access pit excavation and shoring; sewer cleaning and debris removal; replacement and rehabilitation of pipe 8 to 72 inches in diameter by direct burial, sliplining, cured in-place lining, directional drilling, and/or pipe bursting; pipe grouting, demolition and construction of wastewater structures; closed circuit television inspection or other methods of remote inspection; community and environmental coordination; and construction safety.


  • Evaluates specifications to plan and verify procedures for each phase of construction.
  • Review, prepare and process project documents, such as submittals, correspondence, RFIs, plan clarifications, change/allowance orders, and negotiating change orders.
  • Assist public agency staff with negotiating change orders and resolving other significant delay and construction matters.
  • Coordinate and work closely with public agency management and staff, the CM Team, and the contractor throughout the construction of the project
  • Facility startup and permitting activities
  • Assist in review of work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules including ability to interpret construction schedules to determine whether progress is in compliance with the schedules.
  • Maintain construction records and prepare reports
  • Utilize the public agency's document control system and attend project meetings


  • 3-5 years of practical experience with construction projects valued at $1 Million or more is required.
  • Strong understanding of construction of sewer conveyance system projects
  • Familiar with phases of construction from the project award through close-out of a project
  • Working knowledge of the current Green Book and open cut shoring and excavation, sewer by-pass operations, and maintenance-hole reconstruction.
